Autocar has just unveiled the official details about the new Mercedes E63 AMG.The 6208cc V8 produces the same power and 465lb ft of torque as the SL63’s unit. Performance is practically the same as the old E63, but still impressive, with a 0-62mph time of 4.5sec and a top speed limited to 155mph.

The new car gains the SL63’s Speedshift MCT seven-speed ’box with a wet start-up clutch. The unit is lighter and more efficient than the old torque converter, as well as giving better response.The transmission has four driving modes: Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual. In Manual the system will switch cogs in 100 milliseconds, while in Controlled Efficiency there are early upshifts to keep revs low and optimise efficiency.Visually, the car gains 18in AMG alloys with 255/40 front and 285/35 rear tyres, while 19-inch items feature on the options list. The front wings are 17mm wider than a regular E-class’s and feature ‘6.3 AMG’ lettering.

The car also gets LED daytime running lights and a more aggressive front spoiler, while a rear diffuser and quad tailpipes feature at the back.

The E63 will be on sale in September, although UK prices and specs are yet to be confirmed.

Finally today Kia has revealed the first official images and details of the new 2010 Kia Sorento. The 2010 Kia Sorento will be premiered at the Seoul Auto Show in April and is still wearing the XM codename. The 2010 Kia Sorento will be powered by the company’s new R-diesel engine - a 2.2-liter engine that outputs 200 hp and offers a 7 liter / 100 km fuel economy. With this engine, the 2010 Kia Sorento is compliant with the EURO 5 CO2 emissions standard. The 2010 Kia Sorento is a little larger than the current model, but it has a shorter wheelbase of 2.700mm.

The tuners from Caractere have released a new body kit for the Volkswagen Scirocco 2009.The Caractere Volkswagen Scirocco can be equipped with CH1 wheels which come in three sizes: 18″, 19″ or 20″ and will have wide tires for increased stability and better handling. In the Evo stage the car’s engine could deliver almost 300 HP and 420 HP and will cost €9,950 while the Evo R stage will give this Scirocco a great power boost and the car’s engine could deliver 349 HP and a maximum torque of 450Nm for  €19,950.

Volvo UK is going to launch the C70 Convertible.The C70 Ice White is thus named because of its exterior colour. What makes the C70 Ice White special is that it offers lots of extra equipment over the normal 2.0D S model at a price of £24,495 OTR. The standard 2.0D S on which the Ice White is based costs £24,995 OTR.

Powering the C70 Ice White is a 2.0-litre turbo diesel motor that produces 136PS (100kW). Using Volvo’s optional £1,400 Powershift gearbox the car can return about 44.8mpg and 167g/km CO2.
