The Renault Megane RS, the most powerful version of the Megane Coupe has a 2.0 turbo engine of 260 hp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 340 Nm. 20 horse power increases with respect to the most powerful version of the previous generation, the Renault Megane R26.R. It has a six-speed manual box and ESC (stability control) off.

Available in two chassis: one Sport and Cup, the latter associated with a limited slip differential which distributes torque asymmetrically between its front wheels if necessary, to avoid losing traction. In the interior are sports seats with lateral reinforcement, analog tachometer with gear-changing witness (including an acoustic signal to show the best time), sports steering wheel with the thumb area and aluminum pedals. The decoration includes the Renault Sport logos in various places in the interior such as seats or at the bottom of the tachometer.

The Renault Megane Trophy concept features a Nissan-sourced 3.5-liter V6 mounted amidship like in the old Renaultsport Clio V6, but producing a prodigious 360hp driving through a six-speed sequential gearbox, all wrapped in a competition-grade body with more wing than the Concorde and more louvers than a Parisian museum tour. Currently the car is just a concept, but could end up going into limited production for a spec racing series

From an exclamation point to a question. By Megane five-door and coupe, the concept ZE: stand Renault does not allow half-measures. The reviews may be flattering or penalized. In this context, the new hatchback, presented in pump magna by President Carlos Ghosn, is among the proposals succeeded. Finally, would say.

Especially the three-door variant, dubbed coupe without sensationalism, show a marked dynamism, azzeccate proportions and a pleasant prospectus and without any criticism. Ben away eccssi style of the previous generation, never too popular for its bold shapes. The engine range is demonstrated at the height of the role to best-seller, ever so close at hand (Golf permitting, of course): the only propeller petrol, the 1.4 Tce turbocompreso - 130 horses and 290 Nm of torque, available by spring 2009 - will be flanked by dCi diesel, with outputs of between 85 and 160 horses.

The new Laguna Coupe is getting a preview amongst the stars of Cannes with a stylish new look that gets away from some of the downright bizarre hindquarters of some recent Renaults. The gas engine comes in at 3.5 liters and 240hp, and while we are unlikely to see the Laguna on US shores anytime soon (or ever, for that matter), the diesel engine will be appearing under the hood of cars from Japanese partner Nissan in 2010. The 3.0L diesel V6 was shown last fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show, generates 235hp and 331 lb.-ft. of torque, and is expected to join the Nissan Maxima lineup in a couple of years.

The European Union online database is proving to be a great source for new models prior to their official release. The latest car discovered by Carscoop is the much anticipated Renault Megane Coupe. Renault recently revealed the Megane 5-door hatchback, but most of the excitement is reserved for the 3-door coupe model as it appeals to enthusiasts for its sleek and sporty profile. Compared to the 5-door hatch we can also see the front bumper fascia also gets a slightly different design, which portrays the look of snake fangs ready to strike, similar to the Megane Coupe Concept.

Despite all of same engine options from the 5-door to be available for the coupe, enthusiasts are hoping for sporty variants like the current Megane RS and the recently released Megane R26.R. The Megane III Coupe is expected to go on sale in early 2009.
